Great read Jay, I think you nailed it. I just can not understand people who are racist. All people are equal regardless of color, race or beliefs. Respecting each other is just too much to ask of so many.

When I went to my first game at The Rock many years ago I walked out of the stadium and was walking behind two black women. One of them was really mouthing off and trash talking horribly. Something of the lines of "You gonna come in our neighbor hood like you own the place you can go to hell. What's wrong with these mother(frank)er? Get the hell out of here and take your friends with you" and just as I was starting to feel a bit nervous she added "goddam Montreal, (frank) the Canadians!"
I could only think how we are really all the same.

Newark NJ is a lot different than my childhood in the Meadowlands. Prudential has alot more African Americans employees and more excitingly, the Devils now have more African American fans. Will it solve systemic racism? Nope. But it's still a plus because hockey is for everyone....equally.
